PM-KISAN has transferred over โน2.8 lakh crore directly to farmers โ but millions of eligible farmers are stuck with portal errors that prevent them from receiving their instalments. Most errors have a specific fix. This guide covers every common PM Kisan portal problem and tells you exactly what to do.
When PM Kisan shows 'Aadhaar Authentication Failed', it means one of three things: your Aadhaar is not seeded to your bank account, your Aadhaar number was entered incorrectly during registration, or your Aadhaar biometric data is outdated. To fix this: first visit your bank branch and ask them to seed your Aadhaar to your savings account โ this is free and takes 1โ2 working days. Then log in to pmkisan.gov.in, click 'Farmer Corner' โ 'Aadhaar Failure Records' and check if your name appears. If yes, click 'Edit Aadhaar Details' and re-enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number carefully. If your fingerprint authentication at CSC is failing repeatedly, visit the nearest Aadhaar enrolment centre to update your biometrics โ this is common for older farmers or those who do physical labour.
PM-KISAN uses DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) โ payment goes directly to your Aadhaar-linked bank account. If your bank account number or IFSC code was entered incorrectly during registration, instalments will fail silently. The money leaves the government system but never reaches you. To check: go to pmkisan.gov.in โ Farmer Corner โ Beneficiary Status โ enter your Aadhaar or registration number. Look for 'Payment Success' against your instalment but check that the bank account shown matches yours exactly. To correct a wrong bank account: visit your nearest CSC (Common Service Centre) or State Nodal Officer with your original passbook, Aadhaar card, and land documents. Corrections require state-level approval โ it typically takes 15โ30 days.

PM-KISAN requires that land ownership records match across the land revenue department database and the PM-KISAN portal. If your land records show a different name (maiden name vs married name, father's name confusion), a different survey number, or are recorded under a deceased family member's name, your status will show 'Land Seeding Pending' or 'Land Details Not Verified'. To fix this: visit your Tehsildar or Sub-Registrar office to correct the revenue record first. Once the revenue records are updated, the PM-KISAN portal automatically syncs within 30โ60 days in most states. You can also submit a grievance through the PM Kisan Helpline (155261) or through the portal's grievance section.
'Payment Success' on the PM-KISAN portal means the government transferred the money to your bank account successfully. If you still have not received it, the issue is with your bank โ not with the government. Possible reasons: your account is dormant (no transactions in 2+ years), your account has been converted to NRI account, your bank merged with another bank and the IFSC changed, or there is a discrepancy in your name spelling between PM-KISAN and the bank. Solution: visit your bank branch with your PM-KISAN registration slip and ask them to locate the credited amount. Banks are legally required to credit DBT payments immediately โ if they cannot trace it, file a complaint with the PM-KISAN helpline at 155261.
If a farmer registered twice โ once directly online and once through a CSC โ or if the same land parcel is registered under multiple family members, one registration will be marked 'Duplicate/Rejected'. Only one family member can receive PM-KISAN benefits per household for the same agricultural land. To identify a duplicate: check both registrations at pmkisan.gov.in using different mobile numbers or Aadhaar numbers. To resolve: the farmer must visit the State Nodal Officer's office with all documentation. One registration will be kept active and the other marked as duplicate. It is not possible to resolve this online โ it requires physical verification.
To check your complete instalment history: visit pmkisan.gov.in โ Farmer Corner โ Beneficiary Status. Enter your Aadhaar number, bank account number, or mobile number. You will see a complete history of all instalments โ the date of credit, amount, and bank account details. If any instalment shows 'Rejected' or 'Failed', note the reason code and use the steps above to fix it. You can also check via the PM-KISAN mobile app (available on Android) or by calling the PM-KISAN helpline 155261. For grievances, use the Grievance Redressal section at pmkisan.gov.in โ grievances must be registered online before escalating to the Kisan Kalyan Office.
