PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

PM-KISAN (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi) is the flagship direct income support programme for India's small and marginal farmers. Launched in February 2019, it has transferred over ₹2.8 lakh crore directly into farmer bank accounts across more than 11 crore beneficiary families. Each eligible farmer receives ₹6,000 per year in three equal instalments of ₹2,000, directly into their Aadhaar-linked bank account through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) — with no middlemen involved.

Despite its scale, a large number of eligible farmers still miss out. The most common reasons are: Aadhaar not seeded to the bank account, land records not updated in the state's revenue department, or incorrect details entered during registration. Farmers who were rejected in earlier rounds are encouraged to re-register after fixing these issues on the PM-KISAN portal or through their local Common Service Centre (CSC).
