📋About GATE

GATE is a national-level exam for admission to M.Tech/ME/MS/PhD programs at IITs, IISc, and NITs, and is also a gateway to PSU jobs (BHEL, ONGC, GAIL, IOCL, NTPC, HPCL and 200+ others). GATE score is valid for 3 years.

✅Eligibility

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc(Research)/B.S./B.Arch or MSc/MCA/MBA or currently in the final year

• No age limit
• Final year students of qualifying degree can apply
• International candidates from select countries eligible
• GATE score valid for 3 years from the date of announcement

📊Exam Pattern

Negative Marking: -1/3 for 1-mark wrong MCQ; -2/3 for 2-mark wrong MCQ; No negative for NAT

💡Preparation Tips

• 1Understand the GATE syllabus thoroughly — it is very specific per paper
• 2Solve GATE previous years (2010–2025) — patterns repeat often
• 3Focus on Engineering Maths and General Aptitude — guaranteed 30 marks
• 4Use standard textbooks for each subject (Cormen for CS, Cengel for ME etc.)
• 5Take at least 15–20 full mock tests in the last 2 months
• 6For PSU target: GATE score above 650 is generally safe for shortlisting
