SBM-G aimed to eliminate open defecation in rural India by constructing individual household toilets (IHHLs) and making villages Open Defecation Free (ODF). Phase I (2014-19) declared India ODF; Phase II (2020-25) focuses on ODF sustainability, solid/liquid waste management, and ODF Plus villages.

🎁Key Benefits

• Incentive of ₹12,000 for construction of IHHL (individual household toilet)
• Phase II: ₹1.5 lakh per village for ODF Plus activities (solid/liquid waste)
• Gobar-Dhan: biogas plants for cow dung/organic waste
• Soak pits, compost pits, and village-level sanitation infrastructure
• Over 10.9 crore IHHLs built under Phase I
