ग्रामीण भूमिहीन रोजगार गारंटी कार्यक्रम
Ministry of Rural Development
Launched in August 1983 by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, the RLEGP was India's first explicit employment guarantee targeted specifically at landless agricultural labourers. It guaranteed 100 days of employment per year to at least one member of every landless household. The programme was funded entirely by the Central Government and was merged with NREP to form the Jawahar Rozgar Yojana in 1989.
