राष्ट्रीय स्वास्थ्य बीमा योजना
Ministry of Labour and Employment
Launched on 1 April 2008, RSBY was India's first government health insurance scheme providing cashless hospitalisation coverage of ₹30,000 per family per year to BPL workers in the unorganised sector. Smart card-based, it covered up to five family members for hospitalisation across empanelled public and private hospitals. RSBY was expanded as a state-level programme and eventually replaced by the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY in September 2018 which offered 17x higher coverage.
