What is the premium I need to pay for Kharif crops?

Only 2% of sum insured for Kharif crops. For Rabi crops it is 1.5%, and for annual horticultural/commercial crops it is 5%. The government pays the remaining premium.

How do I enroll for PMFBY?

Loanee farmers are enrolled automatically by their bank. Non-loanee farmers must enroll before the cut-off date (typically 31 July for Kharif, 31 December for Rabi) at a bank branch, CSC, or on the PMFBY portal at pmfby.gov.in.

How do I report a crop loss?

Report crop loss within 72 hours of the calamity via the toll-free helpline 14447, the PMFBY app, or by informing the bank/insurance company in writing.

When will I get the claim amount?

Claims are settled within 2 months of harvest. For calamities like cyclone/hailstorm, on-account payments may be made before final data to provide interim relief.
