Ayushman Mitra are trained volunteers deployed at empanelled hospitals under PMJAY to assist beneficiaries in accessing cashless treatment, including identification, e-card generation, claim processing, and grievance redressal. They act as the human interface between the scheme and hospital administrators. Over 1 lakh Ayushman Mitras have been trained.
