Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (PMGDISHA) is the world's largest digital literacy programme, targeting to make 6 crore rural households digitally literate. The programme trains rural citizens in basic computer and internet skills — how to operate a device, use the internet safely, send emails, use government portals, do digital financial transactions using mobile banking, UPI, and BHIM, and access welfare scheme information.
The training is provided free of cost at nearest CSCs (Common Service Centres) or authorised training centres. Each training course is 20 hours (spread over a minimum of 10 days) and concludes with an independent assessment and a nationally recognised digital literacy certificate from NIELIT or CSC Academy. The certificate is useful for applying to government posts that require basic computer proficiency.
To register for PMGDISHA training, visit your nearest CSC or Gram Panchayat and fill the registration form. One person per household is eligible for free training — priority is given to SC/ST, BPL, women, differently-abled, and minorities. If you have already done basic computer training, you can appear for the assessment directly without the full course. Our editorial team verified programme status and registration process at pmgdisha.in, July 2026.
