The current NSC VIII Issue replaced the earlier NSC IX Issue (which had a 10-year tenure) and the older NSC VI and VII Issues. NSC VIII offers a 5-year tenure at 7.7% per annum compounded annually but payable at maturity, with no maximum investment limit and Section 80C benefit. This is the only active NSC currently sold through post offices.

Pay the investment amount; NSC certificate or e-certificate issued immediately.
