National Food Security Act (NFSA) / Public Distribution System

The NFSA 2013 provides legal entitlement to subsidised food grains for up to 75% of rural and 50% of urban population through the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS). Priority Household beneficiaries receive 5 kg of rice, wheat, or coarse grains per person per month at highly subsidised central issue prices.

🎁Key Benefits

• Priority Household (PHH): 5 kg/person/month at ₹3/kg (rice), ₹2/kg (wheat), ₹1/kg (coarse grains)
• Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY): 35 kg/household/month at same subsidised rates
• Covers up to 81.35 crore persons across India
• Maternity benefit of ₹6,000 to pregnant/lactating women
• Free meals to children under 14 through midday meal and ICDS
