Ministry of Food and Agriculture
Known as the 'Package Programme', the IADP was launched in 1960-61 in seven selected districts (one per state) to demonstrate that a package of improved practices â seeds, fertilisers, credit, and extension â could dramatically increase foodgrain production. Developed with Ford Foundation assistance, it served as the precursor to the Green Revolution strategy and the Intensive Agricultural Areas Programme (IAAP).
