Intensive Agricultural Areas Programme (IAAP)

Launched in 1964 as an expansion of the IADP, the IAAP extended the package approach to 114 districts across India. It focused on spreading improved agricultural practices — particularly regarding fertiliser use and better seed varieties — to a much wider geographical area. IAAP complemented the forthcoming High Yielding Varieties Programme and laid groundwork for the Green Revolution's spread.
