iAbout This Scheme

Launched in 2009-10, the Integrated Child Protection Scheme merged several child protection programmes (Childline, institutional and non-institutional care) into a unified framework. ICPS established Child Welfare Committees (CWCs) and Juvenile Justice Boards (JJBs) in every district, set up open shelters, foster care, and after-care facilities. ICPS was restructured as Child Protection Services (CPS) under the Mission Vatsalya umbrella in 2021-22.
