Ministry of Finance
Indira Vikas Patra were bearer bonds issued through post offices from 1986 that doubled in value in a set period. They were discontinued in 2001 due to concerns about money laundering, as being bearer instruments they could be transferred without documentation. Outstanding certificates were encashed until 2006.
Scheme Discontinued
IVP discontinued in 2001; encashment allowed until 2006. No active certificates remain. For historical records, contact your nearest post office or National Savings Institute.
