The Employees' State Insurance Scheme is a self-financing social security and health insurance scheme for Indian workers under the ESI Act 1948. It provides medical, cash, maternity, disablement, and dependent benefits. Employers contribute 3.25% and employees contribute 0.75% of wages (total 4%). Workers earning up to ₹21,000/month are covered.
