On 1 April 2019, Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank were merged with Bank of Baroda, creating India's third-largest public sector bank with 9,500+ branches. This was the first three-way amalgamation of Indian banks. All deposits, loans, and services of Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank were migrated to Bank of Baroda.
