DEDS, implemented through NABARD, provides back-ended capital subsidies for setting up modern dairy farms, purchase of milch animals, milk processing equipment, and cold chain infrastructure. The subsidy is 25% (33.33% for SC/ST) of the outlay, covering small and marginal farmers and entrepreneurs in dairy sector.

• Covers purchase of milch animals, machinery, cold chain, milk testing equipment
• Back-ended subsidy released after repayment starts
• Implemented through NABARD; loans through all scheduled banks
• Maximum subsidy ₹3.3 lakh for general; ₹4.4 lakh for SC/ST per project component
• Support for small dairy farms of 2 milch animal units upwards
