SCRA (Special Class Railway Apprentices) was one of India's most prestigious technical officer entry exams, conducted by UPSC for the Indian Railways. Selected candidates underwent a 4-year B.Tech at IRIMEE Jamalpur and were commissioned as Junior Engineer/Scale I officers. The exam has been discontinued since 2015 but remains historically significant in Indian competitive exam history.
