Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs
PM SVANidhi (PM Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi) is a micro-credit scheme launched in June 2020 to help street vendors resume their livelihoods after the economic disruption caused by COVID-19. The scheme provides collateral-free working capital loans: ₹10,000 as the first loan, ₹20,000 as the second loan (after full repayment and one year of credit history), and ₹50,000 as the third loan. Interest subsidy of 7% per annum is provided to all borrowers who make timely repayments.
A unique and powerful feature of PM SVANidhi is the digital transaction incentive: vendors who use digital payment platforms like UPI, Paytm, or BHIM to collect payments get a cashback reward of ₹100 per month (for completing 50+ digital transactions per month). This incentivises vendors to adopt digital payments, building their credit history for future formal bank loans.
Street vendors must have a valid Vending Certificate or a Letter of Recommendation from the local Urban Local Body (ULB) to apply. If you are a registered street vendor, apply through your city's municipal body or at any microfinance institution, cooperative bank, or SHG (Self-Help Group) bank linkage. The online application portal is at pmsvanidhi.mohua.gov.in. Our editorial team reviewed loan amounts and eligibility criteria against the MoHUA official portal, July 2026.
