PMEGP is a credit-linked subsidy programme administered by KVIC (Khadi and Village Industries Commission) that provides subsidy of 15-35% for setting up micro enterprises in non-farm sector. Projects cost up to ₹50 lakh (manufacturing) and ₹20 lakh (service sector) are eligible, with margin money subsidy from the government.

• Margin money (subsidy) of 25% for general category and 35% for special category (SC/ST/OBC/women/minority/ex-servicemen/differently abled, Hill and Border areas)
• Maximum project cost ₹50 lakh for manufacturing; ₹20 lakh for services
• Bank provides 90% of project cost; 10% own contribution for general, 5% for special category
• Subsidy directly credited to bank account after initial repayment
